Improvements​


  • Added a configurable environment variable syntax for custom install arguments and installation locations. The default format is now <VAR>.
  • Clicking anywhere on an active operation card now opens its live operation log, making it easier to monitor package operations.
  • Restored the desktop shortcut prompt after package installations.

Bug Fixes​


  • Fixed an issue preventing text entry in immersive dialogs while a modal dialog was open.
  • Updated translations and corrected several localization issues.

This feature release adds scheduled maintenance, selective automatic updates, full portable support, expanded shortcut management, and major reliability improvements across package managers and remote operations.


New Features​


  • Added scheduled maintenance for update checks, automatic update installation, local backups, and cloud backups, with independent schedules, retries and timeouts.
  • Added support for marking individual packages for automatic updates instead of automatically updating every package.
  • Added Start Menu shortcut and folder management to the unified Manage shortcuts window, including removal, reset, relocation, post-install prompts, and command-line support.
  • Added an optional Installer host column that shows each download domain and provides the full installer URL in a tooltip.
  • Added configurable retention limits for timestamped local backups, with automatic removal of the oldest files.
  • Added the %NAME% placeholder and a per-package subfolder style setting for creating sanitized custom installation directories.
  • Added Update and Update as administrator actions to the Installed Packages page when a newer package version is available.

  • Improved package icon loading with bounded preloading and automatic retries after temporary failures.
  • Improved update error messages for unavailable installers, already-current packages, and WinGet hash mismatches, including more relevant recovery guidance.
  • Improved Linux compatibility by targeting a glibc 2.27 baseline so releases run on considerably older distributions.
  • Migrated supported NuGet-backed package managers to the NuGet V3 API for more efficient and reliable feed access.

Bug Fixes​


  • Fixed WinGet package detection, search, and update checks on Windows installations using non-English display languages.
  • Fixed WinGet detection when its executable is not available through the system path by locating App Installer through Windows.
  • Fixed updates being under-reported during the first scan by refreshing the WinGet catalog snapshot when its source index changes.
  • Fixed version comparisons for packages that use underscores in build revisions, including Homebrew versions such as 18.4_1.
  • Fixed PowerShell 5.x module operations incorrectly reporting success after non-terminating errors.
  • Fixed Cargo package listings showing blank crate names or silently omitting entries.
  • Fixed Scoop package listings hanging when commands produced excessive error output or stopped responding.
  • Fixed shortcut removal failures by elevating when required and applying deletions as a single operation.
  • Fixed package-manager dependency installations being accepted without verifying that the required tool was actually installed.
  • Fixed Cargo-installed dependencies being missed when they were available in standard Cargo directories but not on the system path.

Security​


  • Hardened PowerShell-based package operations against command injection by validating package values, rejecting shell metacharacters, and passing arguments as data.
  • Hardened settings imports by rejecting unknown or unsafe names and preventing secure-settings paths from escaping their intended directory.

Devolutions UniGetUI 2026.3.2​

This release adds an experimental Software Catalog and Catalog Editor (turned on in Settings > Experimental), lets you reorder the sidebar pages by drag and drop, brings macOS's new Liquid Glass look to UniGetUI on Mac, and fixes a set of crashes and package manager bugs.

New Features​

  • Added an experimental Software Catalog and Catalog Editor, turned on in Settings > Experimental. The catalog is a page of approved software that users can install, update and uninstall in one click. Administrators build it with the Catalog Editor: they can manage several catalogs, pin package versions, and add packages straight from Discover.
  • You can now reorder the sidebar pages by drag and drop, or with Alt+Up/Down. Keyboard shortcuts follow the new order, and you can reset it in Settings > User interface.
  • UniGetUI on Mac now uses macOS's new Liquid Glass look.

Improvements​

  • The package list now keeps its scroll position when an operation finishes, instead of jumping back to the top.
  • Package details and "Download installer" now pick the same WinGet installer as installs and updates, following your scope and architecture settings.
  • Screen readers now announce the real names of expanders and package list cells instead of control type names.

Bug Fixes​

  • Fixed Pip updates that could corrupt the Python environment. Pip operations now run one at a time.
  • Fixed PowerShell 7 modules installed for all users that couldn't be uninstalled.
  • Fixed Chocolatey packages, such as Python, that need administrator rights not being retried as administrator.
  • Fixed several crashes, including at startup, with unreadable icon files, and with screen readers.
  • Fixed the restart prompt showing when opening Experimental settings without changing anything.
  • Fixed a duplicated top bar and a crash in the terminal UI.
