WinCompose jest darmowym narzędziem, które umożliwia w prosty sposób dodawanie znaków specjalnych, dla każdego programu w systemie i do dowolnego dokumentu, za pomocą niektórych skrótów klawiaturowych.
Interfejs oferuje minimalną i intuicyjną konstrukcję. Składa się z listy wszystkich dostępnych znaków w panelu wyświetlającym wszystkie szczegóły. Wewnątrz programu znajdziemy imponującą listę sekwencji, które są używane do wstawiania znaków specjalnych. Jest możliwość użycia filtra przeszukiwania, aby znaleźć łatwiej elementy.
Klikając prawym przyciskiem myszy na ikonę WinCompose w zasobniku, można wywołać menu kontekstowe, które umożliwia odwiedzenie strony internetowej producenta, wyłączyć lub ponownie uruchomić program, otworzyć okno i sekwencje. Program ten nie będzie obciążeniem dla wydajności komputera i można go uruchomić równocześnie z innymi aplikacjami.
