Gramps (Genealogical Research and Analysis Management Programming System) to profesjonalny projekt wolnego oprogramowania dla genealogii. Jest to projekt społecznościowy, który został stworzony i jest rozwijany przez genealogów.

Program został wyposażony we wszystkie funkcje potrzebne do tworzenia drzewa genealogicznego. Pozwala prowadzić ewidencję osób, związki i powiązania rodzinne. Możemy między innymi dołączać multimedia czy generować różnorakie graficzne raporty.

Obsługuje powszechnie wykorzystywany w genealogii komputerowej format plików GEDCOM. Umożliwia wymianę danych z innymi aplikacjami tego typu. Doskonale sobie radzi z polskimi znakami diakrytycznymi.

Program Gramps oferuje wprowadzenie każdej informacji i wiadomości bezpośrednio do programu z późniejszą zmianą danych czy pojedynczo lub grupowo (np. informacje o osobie /nazwiska, adresy, daty urodzin czy zgonu/, indywidualne relacje /małżeństwa, rozwody, śluby cywilne i inne/, informacje o rodzicach i dzieciach oraz wiele innych).

Program w wersji Portable .paf otwiera się w języku angielskim. Aby to zmienić po zainstalowaniu go na USB (czy w innym miejscu) otwieramy plik GrampsPortable.ini (GrampsPortable > App > AppInfo > Launcher > GrampsPortable.ini) i w sekcji [Language] zmieniamy w ostatniej linijce en_US na pl_PL. Przy ponownym uruchomieniu program będzie w języku polskim.
