Birdfont to bezpłatny program do tworzenia i edytowania czcionek przy użyciu grafiki wektorowej. Umożliwia wyeksportowanie przygotowaych czcionek do formatów TTF, EOT i SVG.

Narzędzie oferuje wiele możliwości w zakresie projektowania nowych czcionek. Cały proces odbywa się na specjalnej siatce, która stanowi główne okno robocze opisywanego programu. Po prawej stronie minimalistycznego interfejsu znajdziemy natomiast liczne przyrządy (ołówek, rozmaite typy linii, prostokąty, okręgi, a także lupę), dzięki którym zaprojektujemy dowolną czcionkę. Do dyspozycji oddano nieskomplikowany, lecz dający ogromne możliwości edytor graficzny.

Wydawać by się mogło, że Birdfont zarezerwowany jest wyłącznie dla doświadczonych użytkowników. Warto zatem wyjaśnić, że aplikacja została skonstruowana tak, by mogli z niej korzystać również nowicjusze.
